Hi! Jaír here, from EfectiVida. I love the personal touch you gave to the article. I recently discovered your website and I really enjoy your posts. Regarding the investment advice — of course, in this case, it’s your nephew. But if it were a child, I’d recommend that the parents open an ETF with an S&P 500 or something similar, and start as soon as possible. As you rightly say, it’s hard for young people to see the value. But if you manage it for them, maybe—if they’re lucky—you’ve made them rich. Greetings from the Canary Islands!

In reply to Keith. I'm pretty unconvinced by people self medicating or going to "shamans" and the like. I think many drugs have valid therapeutic uses and many are more effective and do less harm than traditional medical drugs.

Sage advice. He’s lucky to have you as an uncle.

The only thing I would add (because I’m surprised you didn’t) is: become handy. Learn carpentry, plumbing, electrical, cooking, gardening, etc. These skills are useful in so many ways and can save a TON of money if you DIY.
