Personally, I’ve gone the other way with ludditing my house (recently removed my programmable thermostat for a simple one with a constant temperature and an on/off switch), but I can see the benefits.

I don’t love google and don’t really trust them on privacy. At some point I got sick of taking principled stands on every single thing and got google speakers. My general thought is that I’m definitely going to have an Android phone and not having google devices in my house doesn’t really make me any more secure.
